I&#8217;m sure there would be an assumption the name is from a relatively amusing story regarding a face and butter.  Or perhaps that I am ironically especially fair around the face or that I melt flowers with my visage.  No, none of that.  Truthfully, the name is the result of both being frustrated with coming up with a string of cliche names either taken or uninspiring and simply putting in what was originally meant to be a filler name.  As it turned out, the name was both available everywhere and not likely to be swept up by current trends.  So, ButterFace it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who am I?  Jeremy.  Difficult to fully encapsulate everything that brought me to this point of making games, but if I had to point to one origin, it would be John Carmack and Quake 2.  For those that aren&#8217;t familiar, John Carmack was the lead programmer for Id Software back in the day and they had a habit of releasing the source code to their games.  This enticed fans to make their own content, of which I was one of those.  Coupled with a sense of creativity, I grew in my game development abilities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it does, time slipped away and 2 and half decades passed and here we are.  As of this writing, I am sort of unemployed save for ButterFace.  This is by no nefarious circumstance though.  My prior job was a military contractor and through shear dumb luck, I was allowed to create morale building games which went from simple social, to PowerPoint over-engineered, to full on Unity games.  At the conclusion of the contract, I could have rolled into yet another military contract (which frankly would have been the obvious safe answer).  I instead decided to try my luck as an entrepreneur making games, as risky as that can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here we are.  I, as many first time business owners, have no idea what I&#8217;m doing.  But I think I have a shot at putting food on the table with my creativity so we&#8217;ll give it a shot and see what happens.
